Psycho killer fa fa fa fa far better

“I like boys with strong convictions and convicts with perfect diction”

I’ve spent the past 24 hours or so in Dublin, and am wrecked!
Last night started out with drinks and the rugby game around 5ish and then www.magickmacabre.com at the Olympia theatre, then more drinks, an amazingly dark indie club in the Oak’s celler where a lot of dancing had to be done and a lot of stories had to be told. I woke up staring into the white wall on the side of my bed and thought I had gone blind or something worse… I blinked many a-times before I realised where I was and that I was indeed looking at a wall and not into “the light” – phew! Very confusing all the same.

I met some fantastic people, Mike knows just about anything and everything about the vikings, the history of… like THE UNIVERSE, and all the best places to go in Dublin. The Church is a converted Protestant church which is now, after €8 million, a pub. Class.

Anyway, the DJ at the club down in the Oak’s celler had quite possibly the most diverse and unexpected taste in music. I’m trés impressed. We’re talking a mix of the Talking Heads’ Psycho Killer straight after the Doors’ LA woman and Pulp’s Common People and the Smiths’ This Charming Man! Classics all around but without the fromage…

My Sunday night will be spent on La Leather Couch with pizza, a glass of wine and Jung’s autobiography, which is really quite good.

Rilke, from the first elegy

August 26, 2008 at 11:13 am (Uncategorized)

“Yes, the Spring-times needed you deeply. Many a star

must have been there for you so you might feel it. A wave

lifted towards you out of the past, or, as you walked

past an open window, a violin

gave of itself. All this was their mission.

But could you handle it? Were you not always,

still, distracted by expectation, as if all you experienced,

like a Beloved, came near to you? (Where could you contain her,

with all the vast strange thoughts in you

going in and out, and often staying the night.)

Malin needs

October 17, 2006 at 5:01 pm (Uncategorized)

Google the following: “Yourname needs” and present the result on your blog. The quotation marks are necessary.

Malin needs…

to check the ego and withdraw quickly for the sake of the gay community.
a flea and tick bath.
to get wacked for being a terrorist cell leader.
the lamb in her bedroom and porter the puppy in the living room.
some doggy lovin’.
a way to stall death.
to die a horrible death.
to go straight to hell forever.

I smell assassination.

Under the iron sea

August 21, 2006 at 9:35 pm (Uncategorized)

I’m stuck. I can’t sleep and I sure as hell can’t write.

An Irishman compared himself to a dolphin. Dolphins break away from the flock every now and then to seek new adventures. They try to find new ways of making life bearable – silly things. They soar through the water. Yes, soar; they’re the birds of the sea. Anyway, dolphins, I recognise their need to leave.

Though I hold the answer in my hand, my hand is concealed inside my coat!

Toodle pip.
